Former Justice of Brazil’s Supreme Federal Court of Brazil, where he also served as Chief Justice. From 2020 to 2022, he was President of the Superior Electoral Court. A professor of Brazilian law, he is a tenured Professor of Constitutional Law at State University of Rio de Janeiro. He holds an LL.M. from Yale Law School and a Ph.D. from UERJ. He was a visiting scholar at Harvard Law School and is a Senior Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School. Barroso is a patron of the Brazil Forum UK and has participated in every edition since 2016.
