Julia Cruz is the National Secretary for Green Economy, Decarbonization, and Bioindustry at Brazil’s Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC). She holds a law degree with a focus on human rights, development, and international law from the University of São Paulo and Harvard Law School. She has worked with international organizations such as the UN and OAS, as well as Brazil’s Chamber of Deputies and Ministry of Health. Before joining the public sector, she developed sustainability-focused projects in academia and civil society, collaborating with development banks including the NDB, IDB, and BNDES, and organizations such as the OECD. She also served as general coordinator of Tabata Amaral’s campaign for Mayor of São Paulo.
