Ingrid Silva
Ingrid Silva is a Brazilian ballerina and artist. After 18 years with Dance Theatre of Harlem — 13 as a Principal Dancer — she now works as a choreographer, independent artist, and entrepreneur. An international voice for diversity in ballet, her pointe shoes are part of the Smithsonian’s permanent collection as a symbol of representation. She was the first classical ballerina to perform at Rock in Rio, has spoken at the United Nations, and performed at the World Economic Forum in Davos. She has led campaigns for Nike and Cadillac, appeared on the cover of Vogue Brasil, and is the author of A Sapatilha Que Mudou Meu Mundo and A Bailarina Que Pintava Suas Sapatilhas.
