Antonio de Aguiar Patriota
Antonio de Aguiar Patriota has served as Brazil’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom since 2023. A career diplomat, he was previously Ambassador to Egypt (2019–2023) and Italy (2016–2019), and Permanent Representative of Brazil to the United Nations (2013–2016). He also served as Minister of Foreign Affairs (2011–2013), Vice Minister (2009–2010), and Ambassador to the United States (2007–2009). He is the author of works on international affairs, including The UN Security Council after the Gulf War and A Humanist Foreign Policy for a Multipolar World (2025). He is a member of the “Leaders for Peace” initiative, chaired by Jean-Pierre Raffarin.
