Francisco Ferreira
Francisco Ferreira is the Amartya Sen Professor of Inequality Studies and Director of the International Inequalities Institute at the London School of Economics (LSE). He is also a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA); an Affiliated Scholar with the Stone Centers at the City University of New York and the University of Chicago; President-Elect of the Society for the Study of Economic Inequality (ECINEQ); and a member of the Council of the United Nations University. He is a former President of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association and former Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Economic Inequality. Prior to joining LSE, he had a long career at the World Bank and also taught at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) and the Paris School of Economics. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, he holds a PhD in Economics from LSE.
