Hélio Menezes
Hélio Menezes is an internationalist and anthropologist. He served as co-curator of the 35th São Paulo Biennial, Choreographies of the Impossible, and was Artistic Director of Museu Afro Brasil, as well as curator of Contemporary Art and Literature at Centro Cultural São Paulo. He holds a Master’s degree in Social Anthropology from USP and is an Affiliated Scholar at the Brazil Lab at Princeton University. His writings and lectures have been presented at institutions such as MoMA, Goethe-Institut, the Venice Biennale, and NYU. He has curated exhibitions including Améfrica, Zumví Afro Photographic Archive, Afro-Atlantic Histories, and Voices Against Racism, among others. In 2021, he was named by ArtReview as one of the 100 most influential people in global contemporary art.
